The brother to Willowdale East, Bayview Village is a very familial neighbourhood. The community was deliberately planned to fit into the existing landscape – the East Don Valley Parklands. The parklands trail winds its way through the centre of the area where you find winding streets and multiple cul de sacs graced with spectacular ravine lots. There is a mix of housing from ranch style bungalows to large custom builds, with a fare amount of newer luxury condominiums and townhomes.
Bayview Village Shopping Centre, with its upscale grocery stores, fashion boutiques, a spa and a library, gift and specialty stores as well as fine restaurants is indeed an anchor for the area. Residents are also close to the impressive recreational facility, the North York YMCA. Those who prefer their activities out of doors enjoy the meandering East Don Parklands Trail and its paved portion known as the Betty Sutherland trail.
The Sheppard subway line serves the area very well with access to the Yonge subway line, as well as excellent bus service on Finch, Avenue, Sheppard Avenue, Bayview Avenue and Leslie Street. Motorists are approximately 25 minutes to the downtown core via Bayview Avenue or Yonge Street, and on-ramps to Highway 401 are located at Yonge Street, Bayview Avenue, and Leslie Street.
